Description

The Shipment Details section contains the main identity and routing information of the air shipment.

It tells the user:

  • Whether the file is Import or Export
  • Whether it came from HAWB, MAWB, Quotation, or Manual entry
  • Which AWB references are involved
  • Where the cargo is coming from and going to
  • What type of shipment is being cleared

Functional Requirements

1 – Display Shipment Details Section

The system must display the Shipment Details section on the Air Clearing Add/Update page for all creation modes:

  • Use Existing HAWB
  • Use Existing MAWB
  • Use Existing Quotation

2 – Clearing Reference

The Clearing Reference must be generated only after the first successful save.

After save, display generated reference as read-only.

3 – Cargo Type

Cargo Type must allow:

Import
Export

This field is mandatory.

4 – Reference Fields Behaviour

If created from HAWB

  • HAWB Reference is auto-filled and linked.
  • MAWB Reference should auto-fill if available from the HAWB.
  • Quotation Reference remains blank.

If created from MAWB

  • MAWB Reference is auto-filled and linked.
  • HAWB Reference may remain blank

If created from Quotation

  • Quotation Reference is auto-filled and linked.
  • HAWB/MAWB references may remain blank but editable.

If created manually

  • HAWB Reference and MAWB Reference may be entered manually as text.

5 – Airport Fields

Origin and Destination Airport fields must use searchable dropdowns.

The user must be able to search by:

  • IATA airport code, e.g. MRU
  • Airport name, e.g. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport
  • City/country if available

Display format recommendation:

MRU - Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport

6 – Weight and Pieces

The system should allow entry of:

  • Number of Pieces
  • Gross Weight
  • Chargeable Weight

Note these fields may be Auto-filled from HAWB / MAWB / Quotation if available

Validation:

  • Values must be numeric.
  • Values cannot be negative.
  • Decimals allowed for weights.
  • Number of Pieces should be whole number.

7 – Chargeable Weight

Chargeable Weight may be:

  • Auto-filled from HAWB / MAWB / Quotation if available
  • Manually entered if missing
  • Editable

9 – Save Behaviour

When user saves the clearing file, the system must save all Shipment Details fields together with the clearing file header.

10 – Activity Log

The system must create an activity log entry when shipment details are updated after initial save.

Suggested log:

<username> updated shipment details for Air Clearing File <CLEARING_REF>

The Activity Log is displayed at the bottom of the Air Clearing Add/Update page.

Error Messages

Scenario Message
Missing Cargo Type Please select Cargo Type.
Missing Origin Airport Please select Origin Airport.
Missing Destination Airport Please select Destination Airport.
Negative weight Weight cannot be negative.
Invalid airport Please select a valid airport.

Acceptance Criteria

1 – Display Section

Given I open an Air Clearing File,
When the page loads,
Then the Shipment Details section should be displayed.

2 – Source Type Auto-filled

Given I create a file from HAWB, MAWB, Quotation, or Manual entry,
When the screen loads,
Then the Source Type should reflect the selected creation method.

3 – Clearing Reference Generated on Save

Given I am creating a new Air Clearing File,
When I save successfully,
Then the system should generate and display a unique Clearing Reference.

4 – Cargo Type Mandatory

Given Cargo Type is blank,
When I click Save,
Then the system should prevent saving and display:

Please select Cargo Type.


5 – Airport Search by Code

Given airport master contains MRU,
When I type "MRU" in the Origin Airport field,
Then the system should return the matching airport.

6 – Airport Search by Name

Given airport master contains Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport,
When I type part of the airport name,
Then the system should return the matching airport.

7 – Validate Numeric Fields

Given I enter negative value in Gross Weight or Chargeable Weight,
When I click Save,
Then the system should prevent saving and display:

Weight cannot be negative.

8 – Save Shipment Details

Given all mandatory fields are completed,
When I click Save,
Then the system should save the Shipment Details section successfully.

9 – Activity Log on Update

Given the Air Clearing File already exists,
When I update Shipment Details and save,
Then the system should record the update in Activity Log.
