closedSilverline: LCL - Add Container Reference Field for Bulk Cargo Containers and Display Across Documents
Description
Silverline has requested the ability to capture a Container Reference when the user selects Bulk instead of standard Container mode in the Add Container popup in the Shipment cost screen.
Currently, when Bulk is selected, only the Bulk Cargo Reference field is available. However, operationally they still need to record a related container reference number for tracking, billing, and document purposes.
Requirement Summary¶
When user selects Bulk in the Container/Bulk toggle:
- Keep existing Bulk Cargo Reference field.
- Add a new field named Container Reference beside the Bulk Cargo Reference textbox.
- Field must allow manual input.
- Field is optional
Functional Requirements¶
1. Add Container Screen¶
When Bulk option is selected:
- Display new field:
Container Reference
- Position: beside existing Bulk Cargo Reference field.
- Input type: Textbox
2. Save Data¶
System must store the Container Reference against that Bulk record.
3. File Reference Screen (LCL – Container Level)¶
If the user selects Bulk:
- Display Container Reference as Read Only
- Visible in container-level details
4. Document Outputs¶
Display this Container Reference in case of bulk in the following PDF documents:
- NOA (Notice of Arrival)
- AOA / Advice of Arrival
- Invoice
- Bill of Lading
Placement should follow existing container reference sections where applicable.
Acceptance Criteria¶
Scenario 1 – Bulk Selected¶
Given user opens Add Container
When user selects Bulk
Then system displays:
- Bulk Cargo Reference
- Container Reference
Scenario 2 – Save Record¶
Given user enters both references
When clicking Add / Save
Then values are stored successfully.
Scenario 3 – File Reference Display¶
Given Bulk record exists
When user opens File Reference → LCL → Container Level -> select Bulk
Then Container Reference is visible as read-only.
Scenario 4 – Reports/Documents¶
Given Bulk record has Container Reference
When generating NOA / AOA / Invoice / BL
Then Container Reference appears correctly.
