Description

Tenant: MACCS

Environment: Qualif v 1.1.7_20260331075625

Issue: UI/UX Improvement

In the Airline dropdown (Add Flight Schedule screen), the search functionality currently filters results only based on the Airline name/description.

However, in air freight operations, users frequently search airlines using the IATA Designator Code (e.g., EK for Emirates, QR for Qatar Airways).

Currently:

  • Typing “emirates” returns correct results
  • Typing “EK” does NOT return Emirates Airlines

This indicates the search is not considering the IATA Designator Code field.

Preconditions

  • Airline maintenance contains:
    • Airline Name (e.g., Emirates Airlines)
    • IATA Designator Code (e.g., EK)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to Add Flight Schedule → Airline dropdown
  2. Type “EK” in search field
  3. Observe results

Actual Result

  • No result OR irrelevant results shown
  • System filters only based on airline name/description

Expected Result

  • Dropdown should support search by:
    • Airline Name (e.g., Emirates)
    • IATA Designator Code (e.g., EK)

Typing “EK” should return:
EK – Emirates Airlines

Suggested Fix

  • Enhance dropdown search to support multi-field filtering:
    • Airline Name
    • IATA Designator Code
  • Display format should be standardized as:
    [IATA Code] – [Airline Name]
    e.g., EK – Emirates Airlines
  • Ensure:
    • Case-insensitive search
    • Partial match supported (e.g., “E”, “EK”, “Emir”)

NOTE:

This improvement should be applied to all screens in the Air module where Airline/Flight selection is performed, to ensure consistency.
