Description

The order in which charges are entered in the Charges grid is not preserved. Each time the quotation is retrieved or updated, the system reorders the charges unpredictably.

The users using the ocean module have reported this in the ocean module. The order in which the charges are entered should be displayed in the same order everywhere in any screen or document. e.g., They always put freight as the 1st charge, and the clients also are familiar with this.

This creates inconsistency between:

• User-entered charge sequence
• Displayed sequence in UI
• Expected sequence in generated documents (Quotation/Invoice PDFs)

Preconditions

• User creates a quotation
• Adds multiple charges in a specific order or select from portfolio or Refresh Charges(any of these steps)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go to Charges section
2. Add charges in a defined order (e.g.):
   • Freight
   • Documentation Fee
   • Handling Fee
3. Save / Update the quotation
4. Retrieve the quotation OR click Update again
5. Observe order of charges

Actual Result

• Charges order changes after save/retrieve/update
• The order is inconsistent across different loads as per given screenshots above
• No predictable sorting logic

Expected Result

• Charges should be displayed in the exact order they were entered by the user
• The same order should be maintained:
  • In UI grid
  • In generated documents (Quotation, Invoice, Reports, etc.)

Business Requirement

• Freight forwarders follow standard charge sequencing, e.g.:
  • Freight (always first)
  • Origin charges
  • Destination charges
• This sequence is important for:
  • Customer readability
  • Industry standards
  • Internal validation

Suggested Fix

• Introduce a Sequence / Sort Order field (stored in DB)
• Maintain insertion order

Additional Enhancements:

• Ensure the same order is used in:
  • PDF generation
  • Reports
  • Invoice, etc.
• Ensure that everywhere we have the "Charges" grid, the ordering is applied.
