Description
What is Skipped Vessel?
A skipped vessel refers to a situation in shipping where a scheduled vessel does not make a planned stop at a port. This can occur due to various reasons such as Cyclone, Rough sea and others. For example, a vessel skip Port-louis and move towards Durban and comes to Port-Louis again.
What are the impacts on the Freight Forwarding system?
(a) New Vessel schedule need to be created since voyage number is changed.
(b) Shipment cost maybe changed.
(c) New File reference needs to be done since voyage number and other associated cost may be impacted.
(d) New submission towards MRA custom needs to be done impacting the Job number.
Proposed solution:
(a) Allow Cloning of the initial 'File Reference' (with difference identifier) along with the 'Vessel schedule' and 'Shipment costs'. I would recommend when cloning the File Reference, all associated transactions like Vessel schedule, Shipment cost (backwards) is cloned automatically.
(b) Add a new option to mark the initial Vessel schedule as skipped.
(c) Display an 'Skipped' marking on the initial file reference and shipment cost which is non modifiable.
N.B: This will act as a new transaction.
