File Reference: Split Cargo
Description
Description
As a Freight Forwarding Agent, I want to manage the splitting of a cargo consignment across multiple containers so that we maintain accurate records with our clients and CFS.
Scenario
-
Request for Quotation (RFQ)
- The process begins when FFWD receives an RFQ for a 15 mc consignment.
- The Agent then verify the quotation, add the charges and sends the quotation for approval to the client.
-
Quotation Confirmation
- The client reviews and confirms the quotation provided by FFWD.
- Upon confirmation, Freight forwarder creates an File Reference ( LCL) to track this shipment.
-
Creation of House Bill of Lading (HBL)
- For example: A FFWD has two 30 mc containers available for use: Container A and Container B.
- FFWD creates an HBL for the 15 mc consignment, assigning it to Container A
-
Loading Plan Submission
- FFWD creates a loading plan that includes information about multiple HBLs and sends it to CFS for processing.
-
CFS Receives Loading Plan
- CFS receives the loading plan and begins the stuffing process for both Container A and Container B.
-
Cargo Splitting During Stuffing
- During the stuffing operation, CFS determines that the 15 mc consignment will be split between the two containers:
- Container A will hold 7 mc.
- Container B will hold 8 mc.
- During the stuffing operation, CFS determines that the 15 mc consignment will be split between the two containers:
-
Export Manifest Preparation
- After completing the stuffing process, CFS sends an actual loading plan/export manifest back to FFWD, detailing how the cargo has been divided.
-
File Reference Update
- FFWD agent need to update the original File Reference by splitting the 15 mc HBL into two separate entries:
- One entry for 7 mc in Container A.
- Another entry for 8 mc in Container B.
- The same HBL reference is maintained to ensure consistency in the export manifest.
- FFWD agent need to update the original File Reference by splitting the 15 mc HBL into two separate entries:
- For the multiple Bls, Only 1 Bill of Lading should be issued.
- Only 1 invoice should be issued for the split Bl
