Description

The current EDI File Upload screen is not user-friendly and causes confusion during file submission and monitoring of processing status. Several UI and usability improvements are required to streamline the upload process and improve visibility of file-processing results.

Current Issues Identified:

  1. Unclear upload workflow

The file upload workflow is unclear with multiple options such as Choose File and Upload File, and Submit, which may confuse users regarding the correct sequence of actions.

  2. Unclear button functionality

One of the buttons on the screen is unclear,image.png{width="202" height="66"} making it difficult for users to understand whether it needs to be clicked as part of the upload process.

  3. Unclear purpose of Delete button

What is the purpose of the Delete button?

  4. Poor visibility of processing status

File processing statuses (e.g., FAILED, SUCCESSFUL) are not visually highlighted, making it difficult to quickly identify failed files.

  5. No refresh functionality

The screen does not provide a Refresh button to reload the grid and retrieve the latest file-processing statuses without manually refreshing the entire page.

  6. File status ordering issue

The File Status grid is not sorted by the most recent file, making it difficult for users to quickly locate the latest processed file.

  7. Re-upload limitation for failed files

When a file is processed with a FAILED status, users should be able to upload the same file again. Currently, this functionality appears to be restricted. DONE

  8. Alias field not used during EDI processing

A new field Alias for Container Type and Packaging Type has already been developed and deployed. However, it appears that this field has not yet been implemented or considered during the EDI file processing logic. DONE

Enhancement Requested:

  1. Simplify the file upload workflow to a clear sequence (e.g., Select File → Upload).
  2. Improve button labeling and UI clarity so users clearly understand the required actions.
  3. Clarify the purpose and usage of the Delete button, or adjust its placement if necessary
  4. Implement color-coded status indicators for processing results:
    • Green – Successful
    • Red – Failed
    • Yellow – Processing / Pending
  5. Add a Refresh button to allow users to reload the grid and view the latest processing results.
  6. Configure the File Status grid to sort by latest processed file (descending order by processing date).
  7. Allow users to upload the same file again if the previous processing attempt failed. DONE
  8. Update the EDI processing logic to check the Alias field when the Container Type or Packaging Type from the EDI file does not match the codes maintained in the corresponding maintenance tables. DONE
